Penfriends: Bigger and better for 2014

In 2014 Cambridge English Penfriends will make it even easier to find partner schools to swap cards with. With a refreshed website and mobile-friendly echnology there has never been a better time to find a Cambridge English Penfriend.

This year Cambridge English Penfriends is three years old! Some 200,000 students in more than 7,000 schools are already exchanging cards with other English learners in over 100 different countries through Penfriends.

As part of our latest update, teachers will be able to search for partner schools based on the age of their students and their English ability as well as the location and size of the school or class.

What’s more, schools will now be able to exchange cards digitally. Teachers can send their class’s cards to their penfriends immediately, via the Penfriends website, meaning the wait for traditional post to make its way across the globe (and the associated cost) is removed.

Those that love the thrill of opening an envelope sent from the other side of the world can still send and receive paper cards too if they wish.

We’re also enabling schools to match with multiple partner schools. If you can’t decide whether you want to match with a school in Ghana, Greece, or Guyana, you can match and exchange cards with all of them in turn.

Show your students that English is practical, helping them to build their confidence and communicate internationally. Visit to set up your free account and starting making penfriends!
